Almost Wordless Wednesday

What do you think this is? It's the biggest one I have ever seen and the vet put it on his Boone and Crockett list.

  1. Hmmm, I am stumped. A tooth? You got me! I have no idea!
Hey, you have no idea how excited I am to see an AK Pony Girl!!! I work with a vet out of Homer, she just came back from there. She brings me AK stuff, books and veggies and all kinds of neat stuff. Excellent horsewoman in her own right. I'm just STOKED to be able to read you! I bookmarked you and I'll be back. I'm just fascinated by all things AK, so I'm super excited to get a peek thru a horsewoman's eyes :)

  3. Tooth comes to mind first but it almost looks like a chestnut....

  4. it's a BEAN! I had never seen one so large. It came from a gelding that I rescued and I don't think he had ever had his sheath cleaned. When I had him put down earlier this year we did a necropsy and we estimated his age at 35+. I hope I never see one this big again!

  6. OMG...unbelievable!!! My mustang Coyote had one 'bout half that size that I thought was a world record. That poor ol' guy!! OK...did you get it out of him before or after he died...sorry...but I have to ask. It would be really hard to remove...Coyote's was.

  7. The vet removed it almost a year before he was put down. It was difficult to remove and the vet took a really long time. Dr. Brown said that most horses have 3 small beans that gradually smoosh into one large bean but that Beau's was extra extra large.

Look at the next Wordless Wednesday picture. The white horse is Beau.
